INGREDIENTS

  • 2 quarts water
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/8 cup diced shallots
  • 1 tablespoon diced garlic
  • 1 package (8 ounces) SWEET EARTH Enlightened Foods Traditional Seitan Grounds (or Tuscan Style Savory Grounds)
  • 1/4 cup white wine
  • 1 can (14 ounces) roasted, diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 pound dry pappardelle pasta
  • Salt, pepper and crushed red pepper to taste

MAKE IT

Step 1
Boil water. While boiling, heat olive oil in large pan on medium for about 3 minutes.
Step 2
Add shallots, garlic, and ground seitan to pan and stir constantly for 3-5 minutes. Add white wine.
Step 3
Pour tomatoes with juice into pan and cook on medium for 5 minutes.
Step 4
Season the sauce with salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper.
Step 5
Add 1 tablespoon sea salt to boiling water. Then add pappardelle pasta. When cooked, drain and toss with sauce. Sprinkle with basil, if desired.
