Directions
Activate Yeast: In a bowl, mix warm water (not hot) with sugar and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
Make the Dough: In a large bowl, combine flour, NIDO® Fortificada, and salt. Add the yeast mixture and softened butter. Mix until a dough forms, then knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
First Rise: Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Prepare Chocolate Paste: Mix cocoa powder, sugar, and warm water into a smooth paste.
Shape and Swirl: Punch down the dough and roll it into a rectangle. Spread the chocolate paste evenly.
Second Rise: Place the rolled dough into a greased loaf pan. Cover and let rise for 30-40 minutes until puffy.
Bake: Preheat oven to 180° Celsius (350° Fahrenheit). Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
Optional: Brush with melted butter after baking for a soft crust.
Cool and Serve: Let cool slightly before slicing to reveal the swirl.
You can replace the cocoa paste with Nutella for a richer swirl. For extra softness, replace half the water with warm milk made from NIDO® Fortificada.
