This is an interesting vegetarian substitute for Chili Chicken. This oriental-style recipe with soybeans and bell pepper can be served with fried rice or even parathas. To add a twist, saute 2 cloves of chopped garlic, add some plain cooked noodles, and mix well to make a special Chili Garlic Soya Noodles Bowl.

The Secret Ingredient

Make It

Step 1

Soak soybeans in hot water along with ½ tablespoon salt for 30 mins. Drain and set water aside.

Step 2

Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a karahi and add dry red chilies, onion, bell pepper, green chilies, ginger paste and garlic paste; sauté on medium heat until onions turn brown.

Step 3

Add soybeans to the pan; add salt and mix well. Stir fry for about 5 minutes.

Step 4

In the reserved water add crumbled MAGGI Vegetable Cube, soy sauce and tomato puree. Mix well and bring to a boil over high heat; add to the pan with the soybeans and mix. Reduce heat and cook covered for 8-10 minutes.

Step 5

Cook the hakka noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a karahi, add the chopped garlic and stir fry for a minute. Add the prepared Chili Garlic Sauce and mix well.

Step 6

In a bowl place the cooked noodles and pour the Chili Garlic Soybeans over the noodles. Garnish with the green onions and serve hot.
