These Easter Cookies will be the hit at your Easter dessert table. Have the kids help with decorating for extra fun.


Make It

Step 1

Beat the butter until creamy; add 2/3 cup LA LECHERA® Sweetened Condensed Milk, egg, flour, vanilla extract and lemon peel. Beat until well mixed. Separate the mixture into 5 portions, add a different dye to each one and knead until a uniform color is obtained. Refrigerate for 15 minutes.

Step 2

Draw a heart on a sheet of paper and cut it out. This will serve as a mold for the cookies. Spread each color of dough out with a rolling pin on a previously floured surface; place the heart mold on the dough and using a small knife cut out the shapes. Use the hearts for the bunny's face and cut some hearts in half to make the ears. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake at 350° F for 7 minutes. Let cool completely.

Step 3

Spread a little LA LECHERA® Sweetened Condensed Milk on a cookie; place half a heart on each side to simulate ears and cover with another cookie to form a sandwich. Form the eyes and nose with the candy decorations and a little LA LECHERA® Sweetened Condensed Milk; use the icing to draw on whiskers. Repeat with remaining cookies.


Can also use heart-shaped cookie cutters if available.
