  • What is Thanksgiving without stuffed turkey? The stuffing for this turkey contains ground beef, ground pork, nuts, cranberries, apples and apricots which is the perfect sweet and savory combination.

The Secret Ingredient


  • 1 (17 pounds) turkey, neck and giblets removed
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 Red Delicious apple
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground black pepper
  • 2 cans (12 fluid ounces each) NESTLÉ® CARNATION® Evaporated Milk, divided
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 3/4 pound lean ground beef
  • 3/4 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup raw pecans, chopped
  • 1 cup raw pistachios, shelled and chopped
  • 1 cup dried cranberries
  • 2 Red Delicious apples, peeled and chopped into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1/2 cup dried apricots, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons MAGGI Granulated Chicken Flavor Bouillon

Make It

Step 1

Preheat oven to 325° F.

Step 2

Place turkey in roasting pan, breast-side-up.

Step 3

Rub turkey all over with olive oil and insert whole apple in turkey cavity. Pour 1 can evaporated milk over turkey; season with salt and pepper. Cover with foil.

Step 4

Roast for 3 ½ to 4 hours or until meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the thigh, without touching the bone reads 170° F or juices run clear when thigh is pierced. Let turkey rest for 30 minutes before carving. Prepare stuffing while turkey rests.

Step 5

Heat canola oil in large pan over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and ground pork; cook, stirring frequently, for about 5 minutes or until no longer pink.

Step 6

Add pecans, pistachios, cranberries, chopped apples, apricots, garlic and bouillon. Carefully pour in remaining can evaporated milk. Decrease heat to medium-low. Stir to combine.

Step 7

Cook, uncovered, for 10 minutes. Remove from heat; let rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Step 8

Carve turkey and serve with stuffing. Whole apple from cavity can be discarded.
