- 1 (5 pounds) whole chicken, giblets removed
- 1 tablespoon kosher salt
Dry inside and outside of chicken with paper towels. Sprinkle salt all over inside and outside of chicken. Place on foil-lined, large, rimmed baking sheet, breast-side-up.
Bake at 450° F for 55 to 60 minutes or until skin is golden brown and meat thermometer inserted in thickest part of thigh registers 165° F.
